Entry Categories
General category entries are evaluated for overall excellence in a specific genre. Craft category entries are evaluated solely for the craft selected (i.e. sound, cinematography, etc.). You may enter one project in multiple categories as long as you complete a form and send the $50 entry fee for each category entered. You do not need to send additional media with multiple entries.
General Category Descriptions
- Commercial - 10, 15, 30 or 60 second commercial or public service announcement
- External Communication - Production primarily created for an external audience
- Internal Communication - Production exclusively created for an internal audience
- Dramatic - Created for dramatic entertainment
- Educational - Created for instructional use
- Government - Created for or by a governmental agency
- Medical - Created for or by a medical organization
- Product - Created primarily to sell a product
- Music visual production - Any production in which the musical content is the focus
- Religious - Created for or by a religious organization
- Children's - Created for an audience under 18 years in age
- Network broadcast - Any television production broadcast on network television
- Local broadcast - Any television production broadcast on a local or regional television station
- Cable - Any production distributed via cable television
- Internet Delivery - Any production broadcast via the internet
- Art - Any production that serves as art
- Special event - Any production of a special event (example: corporate events, festivals, trade shows, etc.)
- Sports - Any production of a sporting event
- News - news coverage
- Documentary - Any production documenting a person, activity or event
- Public service - Any non-profit production created for public information
- Experimental - Any non-traditional use of media
- Nature - Any production created primarily about the outdoors
- Performing Arts - Any production focusing on dance, stage, or other artistic performance
- Comedy - Production created for comedic value
- Live - Any production creating or covering a live event
- Entertainment - Production created for entertainment value
Craft Category Descriptions
- Directing - Only the direction of the production will be judged
- Writing - Only the script will be judged. Entrants may enter a production or script.
- Lighting - Only the lighting will be judged
- Audio - Only the audio will be judged
- Special effects - Only the special effects will be judged
- Graphics - Only the graphics will be judged
- Editing - Only the editing will be judged
- Cinematography/Videography/Photography - Only the camera work will be judged
- Programming - Only will be judged on technical expertise and/or innovation in the programming of internet and multimedia
